Each member of the EPS team brings a unique background and perspective to the production of an
event, ranging from event production planning and management, music merchandising, art & design,
media, web design, marketing, and promotions.
With a common love for live music and a strong work ethic, the EPS team strives to produce fun, safe,
fan-friendly events, enriching the communities hosting them. We work hard to ensure a rewarding
experience for music fans, sponsors, vendors, partners, client and bands alike.
With over 20 years working in the music business, Jeff brings a vast array of talents & experience to every project. A proven leader and dedicated manager, with a long track record of successful events. Jeff’s varied roles have included concert producer & executive director of Austin based Event Production Services (EPS), merchandising design & sales for bands such as Furthur, Gov’t Mule & Widespread Panic, and art and food vendor manager for the Austin City Limits Music Festival. In addition, he is a highly sought after concert poster artist. His fanatical love for live music and energetic work ethic are well known by anyone who has worked with him. His drive for a successful event is evident by the countless hours of thoughtful planning and insight that can only come from someone with his extensive & varied experience.
Jeff’s current projects include Event Production Services (Founder / Director of Events / Talent Buyer), Cryptical Development Creative Group (Owner & Artist), and Production Director for several high profile events.
Mike supplies EPS with a diverse range of knowledge, skills & backgrounds in athletic as well as music events. Born & raised in Texas, he began his studies in business & sports management at the University of Texas. Mike lent his development & management skills to help design & set up the bike course for the first two Danskin Women’s Triathlon Series in Austin. As a trained triathlete, he’s served as former board member of both the Austin Triathletes Club & North Austin Youth Association.
Mike’s love for the live music scene led to his eventual involvement with the production end of the business. Ranging in roles from roadie, merchandising, and emcee to stage & production manager, he has met every position with enthusiasm & vigor.
Mike joined the crew in 2007 to work EPS produced events such as Keep Austin Weird Music Festival, Fun Fun Fun Fest and several others. As EPS has grown, so have his contributions. Mike’s knowledge, skill, & leadership are a valuable asset to our staff. The EPS team is proud to offer his expertise & management for any event.
An experienced & well rounded event professional, Andy Ellis started with EPS first as event support, then as main stage manager at Pachanga Festival. And within a few short years, through hard work, made his way up the ladder to be our production manager at Pachanga Festival and other EPS event staples like Blue’s on the Green, Carrollton Festival at the Switchyard & Austin’s New Celebration and numerous other roles at both private and public events alike. His philosophy has been simple; to help on the production side of an event in order that the artist can focus on and achieve the highest quality performance.
Kristina brings a variety of skills & expertise to the table, helping EPS grow from its inception. In addition to production experience, she also is an artist & former vendor, giving her inside knowledge of how vendors & production operate. She can foresee their needs, as well those of the event, and incorporate the two seamlessly.
Kristina has offered her services to various non-profits such as Old Settler’s Music Fest since 2000. Starting out as the assistant vendor coordinator, she has been Vendor Relations Manager & on-site coordinator since 2004. Most notably, Kristina lent her hand in the creation of the vendor system & policies for Austin City Limits Music Festival. From 2003-2006, she was the lead vendor supervisor on duty, and the on-site vendor manager for the ACLMF art market. Her insight, flexibility, people skills, and pure passion make her a key member of the EPS planning & production teams.
Born and raised in Austin, Texas, Jon grew up with a strong appreciation for live music and festivals. Jon started doing production work part-time during high school and has been working in the industry ever since. Having honed his leadership and team building skills in the United States Marine Corps, Jon brings a unique ability to manage crews in any situation that may arise.
Jon joined the EPS team in 2009 while attending music business school and running crews for many events including SXSW, Carrolton Switchyard Festival and Pachanga Latin Music Festival. Jon is currently writing, performing and producing his own music and consults for several Austin venues on live sound and stage production.
For over 20 years, Charles “D” Kithcart has been a valued influence on the special event and live music scene. Charles’ career has covered all aspects of production, primarily site and stage crew management. For the past 16 years, he has created visual effects, including shooting video and film content of events and international music groups at major festivals. His creativity enhances visual aspects of stage shows with cutting edge images; melding old-school analog with new digital media.
A well-known figure in the industry, D’s hard work and experience always leads to consistently positive, memorable results.
Patrick’s skill and expertise with large scale project management and developing and maintaining relationships, developed serving the public for 25 years, fit well into the EPS team. His extensive experience providing event management, managing artist and sponsor hospitality have led to high levels of client satisfaction and multiple compliments from artists and management.
Patrick regularly serves large scale international conventions for up to forty thousand attendees. He has provided installations and operations for exhibits at major pop cultural events across the country with over 100,000 attendees. His past events include service to the Austin City Limits Music Festival, Carrolton Festival at the Switchyard and The Cuervo Games.
Alejandro “Alex” Vallejo is best known as being the drummer of the award-winning Austin rock band VALLEJO. Aside from performing, producing and co-writing with his brothers in Vallejo, Alex is also the VP of his own production label VMG (Vallejo Music Group), Artist Relations at the Austin Music Foundation, & co-founder/producer of the long running Pachanga Latino Music Festival.
Alex joins the EPS team as Assistant Talent buyer and lead on community & industry outreach.
Central Texas native, Darlene Starr, brings decades of entertainment industry expertise to the EPS team. Including marketing, promotion, logistics and event management. Experienced with media outlets, promoters and venues coast-to-coast, dozens of international recording companies, and countless live productions with touring acts, Darlene is as comfortable behind-the-scenes as on the front lines. She possesses knowledge of all the moving parts that must blend harmoniously to achieve a successful event. Proudly, it all started here in Austin, when she began working the door and selling merch for local bands as a teen. During college, she continued sharing her passion for our community establishing music series at record retail and for causes, and as an A&R scout for labels and publishers eager to find Texas’s best. These led to being hired and rising to executive ranks at national companies. Since 2010, she has served on the Board of Directors at SIMS Foundation, an Austin-based non-profit providing access to mental health and recovery services for musicians and their families. She now brings her expertise to the EPS team managing both business development and hospitality needs for all EPS events.
Curse Mackey is an Austin-based musician/artist entrepreneur specializing in music, tech & entertainment lifestyle brand partnerships and event marketing. He has had two books (DRAW, Rides of Passage) and numerous articles published on his art and marketing projects. Curse is the Director of Artist & Media Relations for FX Group, the official publishers of the GRAMMY Awards, Billboard Music Awards, American Music Awards Program Guides and the co-founder of the Mosaic Sound Collective, a sustainability model for the Austin Music & Arts Community.
Natasha is a proud Austinite. After nearly two decades of entrepreneurship she has added Community Outreach and Partnership Strategy to her accomplishments, most recently with the Return & Discover East 12th Street Festival series as well as Earth Day ATX 2017. Natasha joins the EPS team to bring sponsorships and other vital resources to our various client’s events.
Kara brings 10 years of experience in marketing, sales, and client service to EPS. She has built strong client relationships and helped guide marketing strategies across the technology and entertainment industries. Her clients have included Bonnaroo, ACL Live at The Moody Theater, Austin’s Capital Factory, Circuit of the Americas, Front Gate Tickets, NBC Universal, SXSW, Fun Fun Fun Fest, and Turner Broadcasting.
Emily is the newest member of the EPS team, who comes to us from the East Coast. After graduating from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Entertainment Management, she moved to Austin to pursue a life in the live music industry. She has spent time volunteering with the Austin Music Foundation, and has worked at many Austin festivals such as Levitation, Fun Fun Fun Fest, SXSW and ACL. She also has experience planning and producing local shows for the bands she manages.
Emily is happy to call the Live Music Capital her home and to be a part of the team that helps Austin live up to it’s reputation.
Woody Hunter Miller is an integral part of the EPS team. He is a pure bred Chesapeake Bay Retriever owned by Jeff & Kristina, and the official EPS mascot. You might see Woody out on site, at the home office greeting visitors, or on a walk-through (his favorite!). His passions are tennis balls, frisbee, swimming, dog snacks, walks and car rides.
